Research by image applied to the image based reasonning

Every architectural conception requires an idea research and documentation aiming to help the designer in his creation work [1]. In this activity the use of images is essential [2], because even if it represents only projects or parts of projects in their absence, the designer tends to put the object and the image of this object at the same level. More over, image represents visually a textual descriable content. This article is situated in our research work concerning the image as an assistance tool in the technical architectural design applied to the wood construction domain. In what follows, we will present the application of the image search on the reference based reasoning in architecture.
